Gladiator Armor Bonuses
I'm trying to get my Gladiator gear for my W/Mo, 'cause I'm getting ready to farm. The only problem is, when I buy my Gladiator armor, I don't get the white energy bonus, and when I try using the Attunement runes to give it energy, it's a blue energy bonus.
Am I doing something wrong here? Should the energy be there after I buy it? Help?

They changed that a long while ago, nowadays the stats on armour are independant from the look of the armour - modern Gladiator's armour does not give bonus energy.
To replicate the energy bonus, Radiant insignia - available at a rune trader - can be applied to armour pieces.

When upgrading armours, there is two upgrades that can be applied - insignia, which act like the inherent bonus armours used to have; and Runes, which boost attributes and stats additionaly.
If you still find yourself in need of a higher energy cap after making your armour Radiant, you can apply Attunement runes to some armour pieces. Generally, though, between Strength, Tactics and Weapon Mastery runes, as well as a Vigor, I rarely find myself with any spare armour pieces to put an attunement on.

Ohhh, okay, that makes sense, so the Radiants are better.

Both the upgrades Stormlord talk about can be applied to 1 and the same armor piece. (meaning that an armor piece can have both a radiant insignia and an atunement rune in it). In case this was unclear
But you won't have much room for those attunements since you'll probably be using 4 runes already(strength, tactics, vigor, weapon mastery).

Remember that any insignia and any runes can be applied to ay armor set, so if you were getting Gladiators for the energy bonus that you thought was there, you could just get any armor skin and get the same results. Dragon/Elite Templar > Shiny Man Bra imo.

There's no point putting Radiant runes on your head, arms or boots armor, because they only provide +1 energy each on those pieces.
Chest: +3 Energy
Legs: +2 Energy
Head, Arms, Boots: +1 Energy

3 extra energy is a nice buffer for Shock's exhaustion.

Best advise would be to purchase more than one suit of armor.
I use one set of full raidiant armor for high energy builds or build that use secondary prof skills.
I have a sentinal suit for adren builds.
Recently I picked up a Dreadnaught set of armor for split builds, example Conjure builds or war/rit weapon spell builds.

They removed the mods on crafted armor so that a player would be free to pick the most esthetically pleasing for themselves and not worry about going for a set of armor for its mods.
In exchange, they reduced the price of high-end crafted armor in Prophecies
